Retro bags from Oxfam

I do love a vintage bag. When I ever use any of mine I always get quizzed by people as to wear they are from. The first bag in the pictures was made from real twigs, for want of a better word. Real wood not too far from it’s original state. I loved that the wood is still sporting it’s knobbly bits too, all wired together by hand with a little resin handle. This bag was small but perfectly formed and at £1.99 well what can I say about that? It’s a steal.

The second was made from hand from beautiful rich burgundy leather. A satchel style never seems to go too far from the style stakes. But to be honest if there is a twang of something as a ‘trend’, I will not be sporting anything that meets that description. I hate looking like anyone else which I why I have to resort to doing all of my shopping in second hand or vintage type establishments. Back to the bag… I think circa 1980’s… and priced at £4.99. The satchel also seems to be the man bag of choice, now very much a unisex accessory. A thrifty find for the boys and the girls… Too good for the library if you ask me!
