A gorgeous dress for a £1.00. I found this bargain cast aside on the £1.00 rail. Plonked outside, almost like no one would want it. I couldn’t believe my luck! The retro print is brilliant! I love dresses with pockets too. This dress has huge pockets. I think it’s 1970’s possibly late 1960’s, but either way, a good little find.

What an absolutely beautiful silver neck piece. I have no idea of its origin but I am happy to have found it. I am thinking possibly South America, but that is really just a guess by the way it  looks, I could be completely wrong! It was only £2.99.

I went to one of my most favourite charity shops this week on the hunt for something that stands out. This particular charity shop just seems to have some really unusual pieces. Whether they are vintage or from abroad, there is nearly always something that catches my eye. The prices are funny because I have seen some wicked things for ‘name your price’ (my baseball jacket) and I have bought vintage dress for £9.99. But who cares… It’s for a good cause!

Latin Smile charity shop is the best! I am a Latino Godmother…

A whole rail of vintage goodies all for me! Latin Smile is an amazing charity shop that has opened quite close to my home. I thought that it deserved a blog entry all of it’s own. Thank you Latin Smile for all of the new stuff you have given me! The post called ‘The Letterman’s jacket’s first day out’ featured an amazing jacket which I found in Latin Smile. Basically they are working towards developing the Latin American culture through music, art, history and traditions across the UK. It is a really interesting place to shop as the people who work there are Argentinian. I have got to know the couple that run the shop quite well now so they tell me about their native country and I practice my (very limited) Spanish skills. The great thing about this particular charity shop is they have a lot of donations from America so you find some really unusual pieces from hand made leather bags to vintage 1970’s dresses. I know that some people are put off charity shop shopping because of the clutter and the iffy smell but this place is tidy and smells of beautiful handmade soaps and incense. Another very great thing they do is label some pieces as ‘name your price’. This helps them to get rid of things quickly and helps me get even more bargains. The whole shopping experience is thoroughly enjoyable and one more great addition to all of this, by shopping in here you are considered a Latino Godmother!

These were more of the lovely garments that I found in Bicester. I found some really cool retro ice skates, they would be perfect for a Christmas inspired photo shoot, with the 1970’s dress. The dress was absolutely beautiful, it was made from polyester with lots of silver lurex running through it.The back had a hood which made it all the more unusual. I like dresses with hoods. I didn’t actually buy it because it had a few holes in it so I didn’t think it was worth the price. The Pringle jumper was a good find. Its was made from wool so it will be super warm.  All of these pieces were from Oxfam.
